Parco zoo Falconara: unemozione da vivere tra natura e animali

 Falconara Marittima (Ancona)

Immersed in the greenery of a hill in Falconara Marittima, in the province of Ancona, the Falconara Zoo Park It extends over approximately 60.000 square meters, offering an unforgettable experience in contact with nature. Founded in 1968 as a children's amusement park, it has transformed over the years into a modern zoo, a leading center for environmental education and the conservation of endangered species.

A story of passion for animals

The park's adventure began in 1968 as "Children's Land," a green area with games and pets designed for families. The founder's passion for felines marked the beginning of a major transformation. Year after year, the park welcomed new species, evolving into a true zoo. The turning point came with the entry into theUIZA (Italian Union of Zoological Gardens and Aquariums), which certified the park's commitment to high ethical and management standards, in line with the most modern zoo concepts. Since then, the park has continued to grow, constantly improving the animals' habitats to ensure their maximum well-being.

Our commitment: conservation and education

The Falconara Zoo's mission is based on four pillars: animal welfare, education, research, and conservation. As a member of theEAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquariums), the park actively participates in international programs for the protection of threatened species.

A key role in species protection

The park's areas have been designed to be as integrated as possible into the natural environment, moving away from cages with bars in favor of large windows and fences surrounded by greenery. This allows not only to observe the animals without barriers, but also to respect their ethological needs. The park is home to important species, some of which are at risk of extinction and protected by the Convention. CITES, which regulates international trade in endangered species. Through breeding programs and in situ conservation projects, such as those for okapis and cheetahs, the zoo actively contributes to the survival of these species.

Learning while having fun: teaching in the park

The park has a strong educational focus, thanks in part to a staff that includes biologists and zoologists. Numerous educational programs, workshops, and guided tours are offered for schools of all levels, with the aim of raising awareness among young people about respect for nature and the importance of biodiversity. Through engaging experiences, children can learn about biology and gain a firsthand understanding of the challenges associated with animal conservation.

Plan your visit to the park

Strolling through the tree-lined avenues of Falconara Zoo Park is a pleasant and educational experience for the whole family. You'll admire approximately 200 different species, including mammals, birds, and reptiles. You'll encounter fascinating animals such as tigers, lions, giraffes, hippos, and the okapi, a rare mammal that our park is the only one in Italy to host. The park offers picnic areas, refreshments, and play areas to make your day even more comfortable and fun. We invite you to discover the beauty of this place for yourself and support our conservation projects with your visit.
