Inaugurated in 2012, the nature trail crosses the suggestive monumental cypress grove of Salisano, an extraordinary forest of centuries-old cypress trees of the variety horizontalisThe route, which largely follows a CAI (Italian Alpine Club) itinerary with typical red and white signs, is enriched by descriptive panels illustrating the history, flora and fauna of the area, curated by the Apidienus association.
The hike is considered medium difficulty (level E - Hiking) and requires some fitness. The trail starts about 1,6 km from Salisano, just beyond the intersection of Via Montefalcone and Via dell'Uccellatore, and climbs along the Fosso dei Cipressi.
The trail winds through a forest of great interest, characterized by imposing centuries-old cypress trees. The destination of the excursion is the summit of Mount Ode, at 968 meters above sea level, from which you can admire a 360-degree panorama that ranges from Mount Soratte to the Sabine Mountains, from the Reatini Mountains to the Lucretili, up to the highest peaks of Abruzzo. Nearby you can also visit the fascinating Devil's Pools, of the natural pools created by the Galantina stream.
