Rimini's Aviation Museum, inaugurated in 1995, extends over a hilly area of approximately 100.000 square meters, making it the largest aviation theme park in Italy and one of the largest in Europe. This modern facility offers visitors an impressive collection of aircraft that have shaped post-war history.
The tour route extends over two kilometers and features more than 50 aircraft. The exhibition focuses particularly on the Cold War period, offering up-close views of Russian aircraft such as the MiG-15, MiG-21, and MiG-23, and Sukhoi Su-7 and Su-17 fighters, alongside famous NATO aircraft such as the Phantom, the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter, and the Vought A-7 Corsair II. Among the unique exhibits, the Douglas DC-3 that belonged to Clark Gable, on which celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra traveled, stands out.
Housed in a modern, multi-story pavilion, the museum houses a priceless collection of memorabilia. Historic flight uniforms and suits are on display, from the early 1900s to those of the Frecce Tricolori pilots. Among the most valuable uniforms are the Grand Summer Uniform for officers, the Manta Cape from the Spanish Civil War, and the Meharista Officer's uniform. The collection also includes:
In addition to the vast collection of aircraft, the park offers other thematic sections of great interest:
