If you are looking for an event designed especially for children, with books, stories, illustrations and lots of fun, The Little Invasion is the one for you. This is the section of the The Great Invasion Reading Festival dedicated entirely to children and young people, which every year transforms Ivrea on a stage designed for young readers.
The Little Invasion offers children and young people the opportunity to meet authors and illustrators of children's books, listen to stories, and participate in creative activities related to illustration and imagery. Each edition also includes a day dedicated to meetings in schools, organized in collaboration with all the comprehensive schools in the Canavese area: hundreds of students can thus experience the world of books in a direct and engaging way.
Over the years, important names in children's literature and illustration have participated as guests, including Bruno Tognolini, Roberto Piumini, Chiara Carminati, Franco Lorenzoni, Giusi Quarenghi, Susanna Mattiangeli, Andrea Antinori, Gek Tessaro, Sualzo and many others.
The fourteenth edition explores what lies beneath the surface of things: the ancient traces of the world's history, the beauty hidden in complexity, the small seeds—often invisible—from which the greatest ideas are born. An invitation for children to dig beyond appearances and discover that it is always worth looking. at the bottom of the vase.
The appointment is at Ivrea (TO), from May 30 at 2 June 2026.
One of the most original initiatives of the festival is the editorial staff The Grasshoppers: a group of young budding journalists who follow the festival, collecting texts and illustrations in a paper magazine called GridA creative way to experience the festival as a protagonist.
