The Tortoioli Farm was born from the "vocation" for the countryside that has characterized the history of the Tortoioli family for generations; the passion for cooking did the rest, and so the old and historic farmhouse of the grandparents became a farmhouse.
The uniqueness of the Umbrian countryside and the proximity to the city of Assisi in particular, very strong reasons for tourist attraction, motivated the choice to integrate the agricultural activity with the hospitality activity.
Combining a passion for cooking, the countryside and horses, has made us understand, after a few years of experience "in the field" that an activity complementary to agriculture, increases and enhances its various sectors, be they breeding, the production of vegetables, olive oil and wine.
Our Guests, in the vast majority of cases, have very little experience of life in the countryside and even less of agricultural work or methods of producing or collecting eggs in the chicken coop.
Here with us they have the opportunity to get to know our world, not with description or story, but in a tangible way, with guided tours, in various companies and farms in our area; this represents for our guests an incredibly "real" experience.
In the Tortoioli Farm, of about 20 hectares, in addition to traditional crops, cereals, fodder, top quality oil and wine are produced and sold.
The production of oil is an activity strongly linked to our territory, olive oil and the products of our garden represent our "strong point".
In this context, the idea was born to include real training courses dedicated above all to children who can live the unique experience of direct contact with nature and animals here.
We are happy to host families with children, even small ones, to whom we pay particular attention: camping beds and/or sides for single beds, colour kits for dinner are available, as well as the possibility of having children eat before adults.
For the little ones, at the request of mothers, we can prepare both for dinner and for take-away lunch: vegetable broth of potato, carrot and courgette without salt, potato puree, carrot and courgette without salt, noodles and micron noodles, rice, fresh blended meat (veal, chicken, beef), smoothed cooked ham, fresh cheese, ricotta, robiola, philadelphia, semolina, cheese, fresh blended fruit
For older children, upon request, the Junior Menu is available with simple dishes especially for children.
