The Tortoioli Farm was born from a passion for the countryside that has characterized the Tortoioli family for generations; a passion for cooking did the rest, and so the grandparents' old, historic farmhouse became a farmhouse.
The uniqueness of the Umbrian countryside and its proximity to the city of Assisi in particular, a strong tourist attraction, motivated the decision to integrate the agricultural activity with the hospitality business.
Combining our passion for cooking, the countryside, and horses has helped us understand, after a few years of hands-on experience, that an activity that complements agriculture enhances and enhances its various sectors, including livestock farming, vegetable production, olive oil, and wine.
Our Guests, in the vast majority of cases, have very little experience of life in the countryside and even less of agricultural work or methods of producing or collecting eggs in the chicken coop.
Here, they have the opportunity to experience our world, not through descriptions or stories, but in a tangible way, with guided tours of various farms and livestock farms in our area; this represents an incredibly "real" experience for our guests.
On the Tortoioli farm, which covers approximately 20 hectares, in addition to traditional crops, cereals and fodder, top-quality oil and wine are produced and sold.
The production of oil is an activity strongly linked to our territory, olive oil and the products of our garden represent our "strong point".
It was in this context that the idea was born to introduce real educational programs dedicated especially to children, who here can enjoy the unique experience of direct contact with nature and animals.
We are happy to host families with children, even small ones, and we take special care of them. We provide travel cots and/or side rails for single beds, as well as dinner color kits, and we can even arrange for children to eat before adults.
For the little ones, at the request of mothers, we can prepare both for dinner and for take-away lunch: vegetable broth of potato, carrot and courgette without salt, potato puree, carrot and courgette without salt, noodles and micron noodles, rice, fresh blended meat (veal, chicken, beef), smoothed cooked ham, fresh cheese, ricotta, robiola, philadelphia, semolina, cheese, fresh blended fruit
For older children, a Junior Menu is available upon request, with simple dishes especially for children.
