Learning on the farm
2012/2013
The “Case Damma” agricultural/agritourism company, an educational company accredited number 10 by the Sicilian Regional Department of Agriculture and Forestry, located at Km 9 of the Siracusa - Canicattini Bagni provincial road, offers guided tours of the farm to preschool and primary school classes.
The company's activities aim to assist teachers in the important task of introducing students to traditional foods by addressing various topics from a historical, socio-cultural, agri-food, sensorial, and nutritional perspective.
Each individual learning program will be implemented through a playful, experiential methodology (while maintaining a scientific basis), highly active, engaging, and always appropriate for the children's ages. Teachers will be provided with teaching materials that can be used in class to consolidate or verify what they learned in the company.
