In the silent Tuscan countryside, immersed in the green of the olive trees, you will find the Margherita Farm.
The extraordinary hilltop position with Cortona in front and the Val di Chiana below offers a suggestive view and the possibility of numerous trekking routes to discover the history, traditions and territory of Cortona accompanied by a qualified environmental guide.
The protagonists of all the activities are our Amiata donkeys Vasco, Gianna, Cesira and the pony Gris�, in fact our proposal is that of donkey trekking which simply means walking in the company of donkeys who provide transport of the equipment allowing us to enjoy nature free from burdens and giving tired children the chance to ride them.
Our educational farm activities are aimed at families, groups, schools and vary according to the season, the age of the children and the school programs.
Each program begins with a visit to the farm, getting to know the animals, describing their peculiarities, habits, needs and curiosities. Through sensory and emotional experiences we establish a relationship of familiarity, trying to overcome any fears and mistrust.
